Butterfly Release

On April 15, 2013, The Association for Butterflies provided a  Butterfly Release Course For Funeral Professionals and Pettett Funeral Home successfully completed the course.

A Butterfly Release needs to be in warmer weather (at least 60 degrees or warmer).  Butterflies can not fly well in cold weather.  They also do not like the rain.  There are some restrictions on what butterflies can be shipped to our area, and it depends on the availability from the Butterfly Farmers that can ship to Illinois.

A Butterfly Release needs to be at least one hour before sunset.  Butterflies need to have enough time to find a safe place to be away from ants and other predators that live in, on, or near the ground.  Then, their body temperature lowers and they become inactive at night.

We hope that if you choose to have a Butterfly Release that it may peacefully begin the healing process for a family, who has lost a loved one!
