Doris E. Heise (Hoffman)
Doris E. Heise, 94, of Murphysboro, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Doris was born on April 1, 1921, in Belleville, Illinois to Clarence Fred Hoffman and Addie (Dermit) Hoffman.
She had worked as a cleaning lady and cleaned people's homes, she was a seamstress, she had worked in sales, and she was a butcher, who worked in a butcher shop. But she was most know for being "one awesome mom".
Mrs. Heise had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro for sixty nine years, where she was a member of the Seniors Group of the church and the Quilting Ladies.
Doris married William A. Heise on March 25, 1945, in Casey, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on May 29, 1994.
Other survivors include two sons Martin J. Heise and his wife Kay Heise of Glendale, AZ and Steven M. Heise and his wife Deborah Heise of Waterloo, IL;
one daughter Susan Poucher of Murphysboro;
seven grandchildren Lisa Meegan, Raymond Hankins, Sherry Henderson, Elizabeth Kulosa, Brandon Mueller, Casey Lynch, and Johnathan Heise;
two great granddaughters Emma Rae Otten and Rachel Kimme;
and one great great grandson Carson Greenhill.
She was preceded in death by one son William L. Heise, two brothers Arthur Huffman and Walter Bechtold, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Josemon Hoem officiating and burial at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran School for the Scholarship Fund or Immanuel Lutheran Church for the Chairlift Fuand.
