Virginia I. Schoolcraft (Rust)
Virginia I. Schoolcraft, 91, of Carbondale, passed way at 9:39 a.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015, at the Carbondale Rehab and Nursing Center.
Virginia was born on October 21, 1923, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Charles L. Rust and Anna Mae (Kraus) Rust.
She was a very loving mother
Mrs. Schoolcraft was Baptist by faith.
She had been a retired cook at Carbondale High School.
Virginia was married to Billy Sunday Schoolcraft on November 16, 1939, in Jackson, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2000.
She is survived by three children and their spouses Bill and Carol Schoolcraft of Desoto, Ann and Phillip McMurphy of Makanda and Mary and Michael Peterman of Carbondale;
eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren;
her twin sister Livinia Chittenden and her husband Leonard Chittenden of Freeburg, and another sister Ann Manson of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Elaine Virginia Schoolcraft, one daughter in law JoAnn Schoolcraft, one sister Betty Lou Slack, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Hicks officiating and burial at Tower Grove Cemetery.
