Obituary for Nancy Carol Benson (Westover)
Nancy Carol Benson, 72, of Ava, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at her residence in Ava, Illinois.
Nancy was born on July 20, 1943, in Spangler, Pennsylvania, to Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Westover.
Mrs. Benson had worked as a certified nurse's aide at a nursing home. She loved to play bingo and do crossword puzzles.
Nancy married Donnie G. Benson and he preceded her in death in February of 2005.
She is survived by two children Vivian Benson of Murphysboro and Matthew Benson and his wife Marie Benson of Ava;
three grandchildren Cheyenne Benson of Ava, Samantha Benson of Texas and Dustin Bressler of Florida;
and one sister Verna Barngart of Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by one son Billy Westover, two daughters Laura Benson and Stephanie Mullens, several brothers and sisters, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Pyatt and burial at Zeigler Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Monday at the funeral home. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
