Obituary for Eugene Nipper

Eugene Nipper, 84, of Alto Pass, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at his home in Alto Pass, Illinois.

Eugene was born on March 3, 1931, in Union County, Illinois, to Albert Nipper and Lettie (Wilmouth) Nipper.

Mr. Nipper was a power plant operator at the former Granite City Steel, which is now U.S. Steel, where he worked for thirty one years.

Eugene married Elois Grammer on May 2, 1964, in Pomona, and she survives.

Other survivors include one sister and brother in law Frances and Wayne Krepps of Cary, Illinois;

one sister in law Ilene Nipper of Granite City;

six nieces and seven nephews Rosemary Mall, Lawrence Clover, Carol Gallo, Tony Nipper, Betty Sue Mall, Merle Nipper, Danny Nipper, Terry Nipper, Eugene Nipper, Brenda Czeschin, Neasha Hill, Kimberly Metzler, and Joshua Nipper; and many great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Pauline, Mary and Ileane, six brothers Russell Uhal, Pearl, Merle, Rosco and Vernon; and two nephews Jack and Jeff.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Allen officiating and burial at Dutch Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
