Larry W. Reiman
Larry W. Reiman, 61, of Murphysboro, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2015, at his residence.
Larry was born on May 7, 1954, in Murphysboro, to Kenneth "Hap" Reiman and Geraldine (Pierson) Reiman.
When the Knight Hawk mine began in 1998, he was the fifteenth person hired by Steve Carter. He started working as a mechanic and worked his way up to a heavy equipment operator. Larry loved working at the mines and for Mr. Carter.
Mr. Reiman was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church near Murphysboro.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching westerns.
Larry married Dianna "Kay" Morber on March 29, 1975, in Ava, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother;
four children and their spouses Eric and Destiny Reiman of Ava, Melissa and Eric Ripley, Kenneth and April Reiman, and Adreanna and Scott Pilz, all of Murphysboro;
nine grandchildren Aaron Ripley and his fiancée April Robinson, Felicity Reiman and her fiancée Chris Schroeder, Liberty Reiman, Ethan Reiman, Wyatt Reiman, Isaac Reiman, Kalyn Ripley, Logan Reiman, and Austin Reiman;
one great grandchild Allyson Ripley;
one brother and sister in law Keith and Michelle Reiman and one sister Zandra Fred, all of Murphysboro.
He was preceded in death by his father, his parents in law Mel and Barbara Morber, and his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Pettett Funeral Home and burial at Murdale Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
