April Dawn  Needham (Reese)
April Dawn Needham, 49, of DeSoto, passed away at 12:13 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

April was born on Oct. 24, 1966, in DuQuoin, Illinois, to Terry Dale Reese, Sr. and Wynema Jane (Bailey) Reese.

She had worked as a census taker and had helped with the Boy Scout Troup # 114 as a committee member.

Mrs. Needham was a member of the United Methodist Church in DeSoto.

April married John E. Needham, Sr. on Oct. 24, 1987, at the Hurst Baptist Church, and he survives.

Other survivors include three children John E Needham Jr. and his wife Brittney N. Needham of DeSoto, Angela D. Needham of Carbondale, and Ashley Nicole Dawn Needham of DeSoto;

one grandson Jerrek Dale Harris of Paducah, KY;

one step son Shawn Miller and his wife Alisha Miller and two step grandchildren Leo and Zachary Miller, all of Murphysboro;

her father Terry Reese, Sr. of DuQuoin;

two brothers and sister in laws Terry Dale (Karen) Reese, Jr. of Carbondale and Thomas Daniel (Mary) Reese of Herrin;

one sister and brother in law Kimberly Jane (Brandon) Buser of Vergennes;

and four brother in laws and six sister in laws.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Lynette Barnett officiating and burial at DeSoto Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bank of Carbondale, where an educational fund has been established for Ashley. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
