Obituary for Linda S. Schack (Clutts)

Linda S.  Schack (Clutts)
Linda S. Schack, 74, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Advocate Bromenn Medical Center, Normal, Illinois.

Linda was born on July 23, 1941 in Murphysboro, Illinois to Harry Everett Clutts and Deloras (Brothers) Clutts.

Linda managed a shoe store and modeled shoes while residing in St. Louis. After moving to Chicago, she served as assistant to the president of World Book Encyclopedia. Upon returning to her hometown Linda was a hairdresser, owning her own shop for over forty years as well as working at other salons in the area.

Mrs. Schack was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Carbondale. She served in the L.D.S. Mission in Queens, NY from October 2004 to April 2006.

Linda married Fred Schack, Jr. on January 14, 1967 in Murphysboro. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1989.

Linda is survived by one daughter and son in law, Julie and Bryan Fink of Normal, three grandchildren, Katelyn Weiland and her husband Cody Weiland of Bloomington, Tyler Fink and Jordan Fink, both of Normal. Linda was anticipating the birth of her first great grandchild.

Linda is also survived by one brother, Harry Clutts and his wife, Deb Clutts of Herrin, two very special sisters in law, Donna Clutts of Energy and Rose Schack of Murphysboro, and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her parents, and two brothers, Leon and Earl Clutts, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Carbondale and visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Pettett Funeral Home, Murphysboro.
