Obituary for Rosie Camden (Gill)

Rosie  Camden (Gill)
Rosie Camden, 76, of Murphysboro, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at her home in Murphysboro.

Rosie was born on October 8, 1939, in Jackson County, Illinois, to Layfette Gill and Muriel (Clark) Gill.

She had worked as a seamstress at Calcrest Jacket Factory for twenty nine years and then worked in Health Information for twenty nine years at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.

Mrs. Camden was a member of Carbon Lake Club, the Murphysboro Moose and the Murphysboro Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed playing cards with her friends.

Rosie married Jim Camden on January 6, 1961, in Pinckneyville, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2007.

She is survived by three children James Camden and his wife Christine Camden, LaDonna Barone and her husband David Barone, and Linda Camden Sherman, all of Murphysboro;

four grandchildren Timothy Ryan Barone of Carbondale, Cory James Camden and his wife Emilee Camden of Murphysboro, Kasi Jolynn Camden of Jonesboro, Mikayla Alexis Camden of Murphysboro;

five great grandchildren Dillon Barone Ellis, Ashlyn Barone, Blakleigh Grace Lipe, Korlie Mae Camden, and Kade Alan Camden;

two sisters Ethel Davis of Tulsa, OK and Opal Johnson of Murphysboro;

one sister in law Barbara Gill of Tulsa, OK; and many, many nieces and nephews.

She had lots of friends of which some have preceded her in death.

She was preceded in death by one son infancy Roger Eugene Camden, five brothers, four sisters, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2016, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. William Elliot officiating and burial at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or to Celtic Hospice.
