Carolin J.  Lacy (Thomas)
Carolin J. Lacy, 79, of Murphysboro, passed away at 8 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at her residence.

Carolin was born on November 8, 1936, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Cleve Thomas and Maggie (Will) Thomas.

Mrs. Lacy was a member of the First Christian Church in Murphysboro, since she was six years old.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Carolin loved working in her yard, tending to her flowers, and babysitting her grand dog, Cobie. She was a very avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.

Carolin had worked as a sales associate over twenty five years at both Meis Department Store and Macy's, where she also worked in merchandising.

She married Raymond B. Lacy on November 13, 1955, in Harrisburg, and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1982.

She was preceded in death by one son Dale Lacy on September 5, 2009, one sister LaWanda Korando on November 4, 2014, and two brothers Norman Thomas and Robert Donald Thomas.

Carolin is survived by one daughter Pamela Hoppenstedt of Murphysboro;

one brother Bill Thomas of Anna-Jonesboro;

several nieces and nephews including Brenda Mills, Billy Korando, and Bruce Korando, all of Murphysboro;

and three step grandchildren Jordan Beltran of Fort Campbell, KY, Austin Hoppenstedt, and Jake Hoppenstedt, both of Murphysboro.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at the First Christian Church in Murphysboro, and burial at Tower Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Francis CARE or the American Diabetes Association.
