Clifford L. Black
Clifford L. Black, 93, of Alto Pass, passed away at 8:44 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Clifford was born on January 29, 1923, in Pomona, Illinois, to Leighton Black and Nora (Noble) Black.
He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Clifford had worked as a forklift operator and retired from Consolidated Aluminum at Madison, Illinois.
Mr. Black was a member and a member of the church board at the Alto Pass Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Alto Pass.
When he was younger, he liked to ski, ride motorcycles and go bowling. More recently, he took care of his wife.
Clifford married Margie Minton on January 27, 1941, in Jackson, Missouri, and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons and daughters in law: Claude and Alice Black of Franklin Springs, GA, Jim and Trudy Black of Granite City, IL, and Clifford "Tom" and Joy Black of Belleville, IL;
seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, one great grandchild, three brothers, one sister, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Alto Pass Full Gospel Pentecostal Church with Rev. Bill Carter officiating. After the services, his body will be cremated. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
