Obituary for Karen Jane Biggs
Karen Jane Biggs, 57, of Murphysboro, passed away at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at her sister's residence in Carbondale, Illinois.
Karen was born on April 26, 1960, in Alton, Illinois, to Kenneth P. Biggs and Barbara (Stroup) Biggs.
Ms. Biggs was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church in Murphysboro. She was a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Karen loved the outdoors including fishing swimming, hiking, and boating. She had taken ballet lessons. She had a Bachelor's of Science degree in Recreation. She had served an internship in the Grand Canyon as a Park Ranger, and she enjoyed mountaineering in the Cascades in Washington. She also played the piano and sang.
Gravesite services will be held at 12 noon Friday, May 26, 2017, at St. John's Cemetery near Dongola with Rev. Charles Allen officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
