Obituary for Orysia Lillia Lamport (Iwachiw)

Orysia Lillia Lamport, 63, of Murphysboro, passed away at 9:40 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017, at her residence in Makanda.

Orysia was born on February 13, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, to Mykola Iwachiw and Myra (Tanchak) Iwachiw.

She had worked as a reading aide for several years at Carruthers School and after her husband passed away, she went back to school to be able to teach special education for another four years.

Mrs. Lamport was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Murphysboro and a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

She especially loved being with her grandchildren, she enjoyed dancing, cooking, quilting, journaling and traveling. She enjoyed being with the "Corkheads" along the Wine Trails.

Orysia married Douglas J. Lamport on August 17, 1975, and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2002.

Other survivors include her fiancée Mike Chezem of Makanda;

two children and their spouses Christopher and Stephanie Lamport and Teresa and Bobby Roach, all of Murphysboro

five grandchildren D. Mykola Lamport, Samuel Lamport, Charles Lamport, Trystan James Roach, and Wyatt Joseph Roach;

her mother Myra Iwachiw, one brother Jerry Iwachiw, and one sister Stephanie Boyney, all of Munster, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Her body will be cremated and a memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Father Gary Gummersheimer officiating and burial at St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Francis CARE Animal Shelter or the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
