Obituary for Michael A. Holt

Michael A.  Holt
Michael A. Holt, 50, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:25 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at his residence in Murphysboro.

Michael was born on July 27, 1964, in Murphysboro, to Ronald Ray Holt and Carleen (Boucher) Holt Reeder.

Mr. Holt had served in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 1988.

He was a painter and worked as a foreman. He was a member of the Painters and Glaziers Local # 32. He was also a member of the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127.

Mike enjoyed collecting bottles and he played on a Dart League.

Besides his mother of Murphysboro, he is survived by one son Michael Holt, II of Murphysboro and his girlfriend Hannah Godwin of Anna;

two step daughters Sarah Nadeau and her boyfriend Jeff Thurman, both of Gorham, and Jennifer Nadeau of Orlando, FL;

one granddaughter Rayanna Thurman of Gorham;

one sister Tammy Tackett and her husband Brad Tackett of Murphysboro;

one brother Nathan Ray Holt and his wife Jeanne Holt of Murphysboro;

and one niece and two nephews Seth Holt, Kaylee Holt and Nathan Holt II, all of Murphysboro.

He was preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents Lillie Florence and William Boucher, and his paternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Raglin officiating and burial at the Smith Family Cemetery, where military services will be conducted by the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Trinity Baptist Church in Murphysboro.
