Obituary for Doris Jean Piquard (Yearian)
Doris Jean Piquard, 82, of Murphysboro, passed away at her residence at 10:32 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015.
Doris was born on April 30, 1933, in Jackson County, Illinois, to Fayette Lee Yearian and Rosa (Taylor) Yearian.
Mrs. Piquard was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Murphysboro. She enjoyed quilting, and at the Appledome, she participated in a water therapy group.
Before she was married, she had worked as a waitress and then she married Raymond Brooks "Bo" Piquard, on March 3, 1949, in Murphysboro, and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters and son in laws, Rosemary and Danny Browder and Terrie and Steve Lee, all of Murphysboro;
five grandchildren Jason Browder of Murphysboro, Stefanie (Jay) Wood of Aurora, IL, Brendy (Dwayne) Dagner of Sato, Colt (Heather) Lee and Trent Lee, all of Murphysboro;
five great grandchildren Kaitlynn Browder and Skyler Maple, both of Murphysboro, Sofia Wood and Naomi Wood, both of Aurora, and Brooks Lee of Murphysboro;
a very close friend Elyssa Maple of Murphysboro and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers, six sisters, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ with Rev. Sam Roethemeyer and P. K. Sunny officiating and burial at Pate Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pettett Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
