Obituary for Ronald G. Catlett

Ronald G.  Catlett
Ronald G. Catlett, 77, went to be with his Lord and his son at 2:10 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ronald was born on June 10, 1938, in Chester, Illinois, the son of Aulsie and Ruth (McKenzie) Catlett. He married Wanda Sue Thompson on December 24, 1957.

He was a graduate of Murphysboro High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963.

Ron retired from CIPS after forty years of service.

Mr. Catlett joined Christ Community Church in 1985 and served as an usher for twenty five years and planned outings for the seniors group-Young at Heart.

He loved to shop for antiques and watched the wildlife that visited his yard.

Ron is survived by his wife Wanda; his sister Patricia Rogers of Ava; one brother Richard Catlett and his wife Leslee Catlett of Apache Junction, AZ;

three nephews Steve Rogers, Jeff Rogers, and Mike Catlett; and one niece Cheri Stevens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Timothy Shawn, two brothers in law Mickey Thompson and Carl Dean Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Christ Community Church. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church. There will be a gravesite service at 11 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Community Church in Ron's memory.
