Obituary for Charles Earl Williams
Charles Earl Williams, 78, of Murphysboro, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Carbondale Rehab and Care Center.
Charles was born on January 20, 1938, in Percy, Illinois to Charles McConnell Williams and Carolyn (Lively) Williams.
He had worked at Gilster-Mary Lee.
Mr. Williams was a member of the First Assembly of God in Murphysboro.
He married Judy (Launius) on August 16, 1998, in Murphysboro, and she survives.
Other survivors include five children, five step children, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren;
one brother and his wife James and Carol Williams of Percy; and one sister and her husband Betty and Delbert Bierman of Percy.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and his parents.
His body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Apr. 4, 2016, at the First Assembly of God in Murphysboro with Rev. Dean Akins officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
