Obituary for Ramona Lorraine Singleton (Molesky)
Ramona Lorraine Singleton, 65, of Murphysboro, passed away at 12:24 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Ramona was born on December 27, 1951, in Joliet, Illinois, to William Molesky and Doris (Maxwell) Molesky.
She had worked as a saw operator at Penn Aluminum in Murphysboro.
Mrs. Singleton was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Murphysboro, and also would attend Elm Street Baptist Church with her husband.
She liked to sew and to do arts and crafts, but she loved raising chihuahuas and miniature American Eskimos.
Ramona married Michael Singleton, Sr. on July 4, 1980, in Murphysboro, IL and he survives.
Other survivors include four children Elizabeth Hernadez of Omaha, NE, Shellie Scholz and her husband Leroy Scholz of Gorham, IL, Lynn Singleton and Mike Singleton, Jr., both of Murphysboro, IL;
fourteen grandchildren;
ten great grandchildren and one on the way;
and three sisters Susan Cherwin of Bay City, Mich. Virginia Jozwiak of Corpus Christie, TX, and Barbara Rhodes of Clearwater, FL.
She was preceded in death by three grandchildren and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2017, at Elm Street Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Allen and Father Gary Gummersheimer officiating and burial at St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Elm Street Baptist Church. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
