Phyllis Jean  Woosley (Smith)
Phyllis Jean Woosley, 87, of Murphysboro, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at her home in Murphysboro.

Phyllis was born on July 28, 1929, in Paxton, Nebraska, to Ance H. Smith and Haney (Robinson) Smith.

She was an avid reader and she loved all of her grandbabies!

Phyllis was a reflexologist.

Mrs. Woosley was a very active member of Christ Community Church in Murphysboro.

Phyllis married Dewey on July 28, 1948, in Rockford, Illinois, and he survives.

Other survivors include four daughters Rhonda Bodkin and her husband Jim Bodkin and Karen Hale and her husband Marvin Hale, all of Murphysboro, Cheryl Halstead of Phoenix, AZ, and Jan Farmer of Hurst;

nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren;

and one sister Pauline Bates of Madison, SD.

She was preceded in death by one son in law, one great grandson, four brothers, two sisters, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Christ Community Church with Rev. Rick McNeely officiating and burial at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Community Church or to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc.
