Obituary for Dorothy Jane Maynor (Wilmouth)
Dorothy Jane Maynor, 82, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, IL.
Dorothy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Carbondale.
She was born in Pomona, IL to Forest Wilmouth and Ruth (Fox) Wilmouth on Jan 31, 1935. She was the youngest of 7 children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William (Bill) Maynor, her parents Forest and Ruth Wilmouth, sisters Imogene, Betty, Geneva, and Mary (Harold) Wallace and brothers William (Billy) and Forest (Margaret) Wilmouth and nephew Jeffrey Wallace.
She is survived by 5 nieces, Linda (Daniel) Nantell, Rita (James) Adkins, Anita (Michael) Russo, Judy Wilmouth and Susan Wilmouth, 1 great nephew, 2 great nieces, 2 grand nieces and 2 grand nephews.
She was employed by Luster Company for 37 years in continually advancing positions. She enjoyed her years of retirement, wintering with her husband in Mesa, AZ, where they volunteered with local food banks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. In-Sook Hwang officiating and burial at Murdale Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church in Carbondale. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
